Michael Wayne next to "Spirit of America", one of his favorite sculptures by Great American Bronze Works.
Michael,
You were the first person to step forward as an investor to open the doors of the National Heritage Gallery on Rodeo Dr. Your confidence and support will always be remembered.
All those who knew you will never forget you. You gave so much to so many. My closest friend and supporter.
With deepest respect,
David L. Spellerberg

The well known John Wayne bust, originally commissioned for the USC Trophy Room by Michael Wayne, the son of John Wayne.
The John Wayne bust was also created for the Smithsonian, and as a gift for President Ronald Reagan from Michael Wayne himself.
The bronze plaque beneath the bust reads: "Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.” - John Wayne
